The 67th Battery Symposium in Japan

Message from Chairman

Chair

Hajime ARAI
The committee chair of the 67th Battery Symposium in Japan

It is a great pleasure to hold the 67th Battery Symposium in Japan in Yokohama.

The last Symposium in the Tokyo area was held in 2021 under the lingering influence of COVID-19, with a hybrid style that the Symposium has never experienced so far, where the lecturers, audience and chairpersons were attending sessions both on-site and/or online. Now, COVID-19 is over and we are ready to hold the Symposium completely face-to-face at the same Pacifico Yokohama North.

Battery technology not only supports our world of portable devices, from personal electronics to electrically powered vehicles, but serves as a global infrastructure, enabling efficient utilization of renewable-derived energy and realization of a carbon neutral society. This Symposium will offer opportunities for discussion and exchanging information on the fabrication and operation of lithium-ion batteries as well as the development of next generation technologies, spanning industry, government and academia.

In addition to scientific research presentations, information sharing and networking, the role of exhibitions is increasingly important for the Symposium. In the coming 67th Symposium, we will take advantage of the wide space of Pacifico Yokohama North to accommodate all the presentation sessions and exhibitions on two (1st and 3rd) floors for smooth movement between sites. We hope this promotes active discussion of research results alongside advertising of developed technologies. Moreover, a Job fair will also be held. We would be delighted if students interested in battery industries join this event, which will contribute to developing the next-generation of talent and strengthening academia-industry relationships.

All the organizing committee members are intensively proceeding with every preparation to ensure that the Symposium will offer fruitful scientific exchange and collaboration opportunities. We are sincerely looking forward to your attendance.
